USD 470 highlights the benefits of a dedicated early childhood center

Arkansas City Public Schools is asking voters to consider two bond propositions on Nov. 4, 2025, that would improve safety, modernize facilities, and expand early learning opportunities. Proposition 1 funds districtwide safety and infrastructure upgrades, including renovations to the middle school. Proposition 2 funds a centralized Pre-K center — but it can only pass if Proposition 1 is approved.

District shares safety tips for students walking to and from school

Arkansas City Public Schools is reminding families and drivers to stay alert as more students walk to and from school. Parents are encouraged to review safe walking routes with children, and drivers are reminded to watch for pedestrians, stop at crosswalks, and obey school bus laws. Together, we can help every child get to school and back home safely.

Ark City voters will decide the future of local schools on Nov. 4, 2025. Two proposed bond measures would improve safety, modernize classrooms, and expand early childhood education across USD 470 — with 30% state aid offsetting costs. Proposition 1 funds major additions at Arkansas City Middle School and districtwide upgrades, while Proposition 2 would build a new Pre-K Center (contingent on Prop 1 passing).
